Warhol/ PopArt critique

  1. What is pop art? Pop art is a form of art based on modern popular culture and the mass media, especially as a critical or ironic comment on traditional fine art values.
  2. Why is this artist considered Pop art? Keith Haring’s artwork is often described as pop art and emerged from the New York City graffiti subculture of the 1980s.
  3. Keith Harings work would usually consist of his trademark line drawings, his work doesn’t actually follow a pattern. All of his famous pieces are just a bunch of line mashed together to great anything you may see.
  4. I picked this artist because I really enjoy looking at his pieces, I like Keith’s work because of how full it is. No matter where you look, you’ll almost never see a blank spot unless intended. His trademark line drawings never get old, and you just can’t look away, sure it’s just clashed all together, but it really makes the piece all the better.
